Fall Flavours and Hallowe’en Horrors: October at Bangbelly

Harvest season is upon us, and with it a full crop of fun experiences at Bangbelly.

Alongside our new October hours, we will be hosting a range of delicious, and spooky events sure to please ghouls and goblins of all ages.

On Saturday, October 5, Wing Night returns for one night only between 5:30 and 8:00 PM. As always,  we will be serving up five of our unique wing flavours to tempt your taste buds and please your pockets. For the indecisive and adventurous alike, our 5-Flavour Sample Platter will be available at a special price; and, of course, we will have a delicious veggie option on offer, so herbivores need not miss out on the fun.

Beginning Sunday  October 6 at 4 PM, Bangbelly will be screening the first of four films in our series of ‘Sunday Scaries.’ Our weekly, family-friendly movie screenings are sure to provide you a healthy dose of uncanny entertainment – the perfect compliment to our tasty cinema snacks.

Michael Keaton as Betelgeuse

We’ll be kicking off our ‘Sunday Scaries’ with the 1988 classic Beetlejuice starring Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin and Winona Rider (just to name a few). This is Tim Burton at his best, and as far as we’re concerned, a pre-requisite for properly enjoying the Hallowe’en season; so, make sure to wrangle your friends, gather your family and make a beeline for Bangbelly to enjoy this cinematic favourite.

For the adults in the house who wish to be scared silly, Bangbelly will be screening a one-time-only horror flick on Friday, October 25 at 7 PM. Our spooky selection is truly terrifying, and is not suitable for the faint of heart (or those under the age of 17). Our choice for spine-chilling entertainment? The House of the Devil, starring Greta Gerwig, Jocelin Donahue, Tom Noonan, and Mary Woronov. Paying homage to the best of 70’s and 80’s horror films, this pic represents the essence of suspenseful cinema. Be sure to come early to secure your seat, and grab some food while you’re at it, because there may not be enough comfort-carbs to survive this one!

Harvest season would not be complete without Fogo Island’s annual Partridgeberry Festival. This year, Bangbelly is proud to be hosting the annual Fogo Island Partridgeberry Harvest Festival Supper on Friday October 11. With two seating times to choose from, you can join us at 5PM, and make a second lap at 8PM (but we bet you’ll be too full). Supper is $40 per person, or $75 for two and includes a welcome cocktail. For reservations, contact Pauline Brown directly at: prbrown12@live.ca, or 709.266.7840. Check out the Supper Menu here.

The most spook-tacular news? We’re bringing back Trivia Night, this time with an important twist: All questions will be Hallowe’en-themed! Join us on Friday October 18 and test your knowledge of horror stories, monsters, fairy tales, and more. Trivia starts at 6:30 PM, and registration opens at 6 PM, so make sure to be punctual, or else our Master of Ceremonies might give you a proper scare. Teams that arrive in costume will be awarded extra points, and the best Hallowe’en-themed team name will also score a bonus.

Our October programming will culminate on Hallowe’en day, when we will be offering up a special pre-Trick-or-Treat meal deal; and judging the best costumes that come through our door. Our first-ever costume contest is open to kids of all ages, and the top three contestants will be revealed across our social media pages and awarded a special Bangbelly prize.

With so many exciting events on the books to get your mouth watering and your blood-pumping, we’ll understand if you decide to ask for your own private parking spot.
